10 Ways to Start a Conversation With a Girl

Regardless of where you meet women, it is important to act quickly and confidently. Even after you start a conversation, you will need to continue it. Have open-ended questions available to ask after you have made your opener. There is no need to be nervous when you are approaching a young woman. The worst thing that can happen is rejection, but that feeling only lasts a couple of minutes and not a lifetime.

Books

  • Observe the girl. Notice if she has a book with her. If she does, walk up to her and ask about the book. A good opener would be, "Hi there. I see that you are carrying Jack Shaefer's 'Shane.' I've heard that it's a stimulating read. What do you make of it so far?"

At Cafes

  • While you are waiting for your coffee, look around the coffee shop. See if there are any specialty coffees available. Ask the girl if she has tried any. If she has, ask her to recommend any new drinks. If she has not, then put in a recommendation for a new coffee.

At Libraries

  • If you are sitting at a table next to an attractive girl, look at her textbook to determine for which class she is studying. If you know anyone else in the class, you should ask her about the quality of the teaching and the grading. Talking about school is a great way to keep the conversation going.

At School

  • Before your class starts, ask the girl what she thought of the reading for the day. If she has not read it, ask if she would like to know the recap of the stories. After you have spoken about the reading, ask if she would like to join you for a weekly study group.

At Supermarkets

  • If a cute girl is in the line with you, see what she is buying. Comment on her food. For instance, you can say, "Hi! I noticed that your broccoli looks so green and fresh. I personally love baking it with onions and garlic. It gives the veggies a great taste. What do you usually do with the broccoli?"

At Concerts

  • Concerts are a great place to meet young women. To start a conversation, you can simply ask about the bands that are currently playing. A great way to break the ice is to ask if she has been a fan of the band for a long time. To continue the conversation, you can ask about other bands in which she is interested. This way, you can find bands in common.

At Specialty Stores

  • If you see women at a specialty store like a book or music store, then you already have something in common. Notice which section she is browsing. If she is in the world literature section, ask her what she would recommend from the section. If she is enthusiastic, she will give you many options.

At Clothing Stores

  • When you are browsing through the selection of a clothing store, ask a lady to help you make a decision with your clothing. Invite them to explain which cut, color and shape will be best for your body type.

Cheesy Lines

  • Horrible pick-up lines can sometimes work. Even silly one-liners like "so do you come here often?" show that you have a sense of humor. Use cheesy pick-up lines when the girl looks like she enjoys a good joke.

Being Straightforward

  • Being honest and straightforward can always be a tactic to start a conversation. No matter where you see the young lady, you can always tell her the truth. For example, say, "Hi. My name is John. I think you are gorgeous." Regardless of the outcome, she will be flattered by the compliment.
